Despite the feeling that I hadn't done well at all, I passed the Audit section of the CPA Exams. This was only my second try at it. My first try resulted in a 70 while the passing mark is 75. I knocked it out of the park on my second try by scoring a provisional score of 83. That being said, I am now "on the clock". A fact that has been reinforced by one of my friends from work, and my gf. I now have about 17 months to pass the remaining 3 sections of the CPA Exams. Wish me luck. Tags: Hits: 162 | Read more... |

My dad used to install sound systems in churches and sometimes he would take me with him. The problem is that despite the best laid plans, sometimes the church wouldn't be unlocked for us to work. However, we always had options. We could A) make a bunch of phone calls until someone came to unlock the door, B) go home, or C) hook and crook our way into the sanctuary. Since we liked money, options A and B weren't really options at all. I always watched my dad make his way into the job and if anyone ever asked how we got in . . . the door was unlocked. We just never said how the door got that way. I live in a two bedroom apartment in a ghetto of Los Angeles County. For whatever reason, architects in California are seemingly unaware that apartment dwellers prefer their laundry rooms IN their apartments. Tonight I was doing laundry and locked myself out of the apartment. Since I am all alone until this weekend, I had no one to unlock the door except Misha and she isn't tall enough. She just looked through the door and meowed at me. Thanks, cat. However, I had options. I could A) sleep on the lawn, B) sleep in the laundry room, or C) get back into my apartment and sleep in my bed. As much as I like having options, I prefer my own bed to concrete which made options A and B non-options. Option C sounded easier than it really was, but with two straws and one shoestring I'll be catching ZZZZs in my own bed tonight. Was breaking into work a bad thing? I couldn't tell you that, but the lesson I learned was that when there is a job to do you shouldn't let a cheap ass Kwikset lock get in the way. What can I say? I had a good teacher. Tonight, Barack Obama addressed Congress. In his speech he said that he refused to accept the idea that the government has no role in our common prosperity. For once, I agree. There is nothing common about prosperity, and the government has NEVER created a prosperous man, much less a common one.
