If you know nothing about Joomla, then I'll introduce it briefly before getting to the point of this posting. Joomla is a content management system. Loads of commercial sites use CMS to dynamically serve pages. Essentially you have a template and database. The CMS pulls information from the database and presents it over the internet through the template which makes the site pleasant to look at (if the designer did his/her job properly that is). The template I am using as of this posting is a free template created for Joomla 1.0. Since I am running a later version of Joomla, I have to run this template in legacy mode. The original authors have not seen fit to update it. I have decided that I want to update the site without changing too much of the look and feel so the template needs to either be changed, or updated. Since I don't want to change the look too much and the author of this template has not updated it to the latest version of Joomla, I will have to do it myself. I have decided to clone this template and will be working on that goal for the next while. Not sure when I will finish, but in the mean time you may see some funky template up while I am working. I promise not to leave a goofy template up longer than a few minutes, so no one will probably notice. I just want to make sure that you know what is going on if you come here and see that things have changed. One of the changes I want to make aesthetically is to make the template wider. The current template is too narrow for my tastes and I hope to have a new wider template up soon. Wish me luck.
